“Meet Dan. Dan is my Pilates instructor at Strong Body Pilates in Studio City. When I think about my own mental health, I am very passionate about maintaining consistency with my Pilates workouts. There are many different ways to quiet and calm the mind. Pilates is kind of an active meditation in that the mind must be active and focused, allowing for long, calming breaths while staying connected to the core. I always leave my sessions with Dan feeling invigorated, yet with a calm and quiet mind. I have found that my anxiety greatly decreases when I am faithful to my routine of Pilates. Thank you Dan!

Exercise is a natural antidote for depression. Consider trying Pilates, not only for fitness goals but to develop a strong mind-body connection and stimulate the production of serotonin in the brain. See http://www.livestrong.com/article/22590-effects-exercise-serotonin-levels/ for more information on how exercise can improve your mood. ”
